Dr Debashis Deb is a senior consultant surgeon based in Kolkata with more than 24 years of experience. He is a life member of IMA (Indian medical association) and ASI (association of surgeons of India ) and OSSI (Obesity surgery society of India) and IAGES (Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons). He is a former Cancer Researcher at CSIR. He received his surgical training mainly at AIIMS, New Delhi. He joined IPGMER, Kolkata as a Pool Officer of CSIR and conducted clinical research on Thyroid cancers. He performed many complex gastrointestinal, pancreatic, and oesophageal surgeries. He also performed many firsts in the General Surgery department of IPGMER. For a short period, he taught surgery at KPC Medical College.

He specializes in Advanced Laparoscopic surgery, eg. Colorectal, Bariatric, and repair of complex hernias and Laser surgery for Piles, Fistula, and Fissure.
